Kala Time – Alarm Clock
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains how Kala Time – Alarm Clock (Android package com.rbabbit.alarm), developed by rbabbit, handles information.
Summary
Kala Time does not require a Kala Time account and does not include advertising or an analytics SDK. Core records stay in the app's private storage on your device. If you choose Google Drive backup, supported records are copied to Kala Time's private app-data area in your Google account. Online features send only the information needed to provide the feature you choose.
Information stored on your device
Kala Time stores alarms, timers, counters, settings, recent history, saved places, recorded routes and imported GPX files, recipe and shopping information, Budget records and attachments, cached weather and news, fuel details and history, and downloaded Sleep or Warzone files. Budget PINs or passwords are handled locally. The developer does not receive these records as part of normal app use.
Google Drive backup
Google Drive backup is optional. When you choose to connect Google Drive, Kala Time requests the drive.appdata permission. This permission allows Kala Time to create, find, update and delete only its own files in the hidden application-data area of your Google Drive. It does not allow Kala Time to browse or modify your normal Google Drive files.
A backup may include alarms and timers, counters, supported settings, Budget records without evidence attachments, fuel profile and history, saved and recent places, recipes, and shopping lists. It excludes photos, Budget evidence and attachments, downloaded media or games, passwords or PINs, purchase and access state, cached weather or news, recorded routes and GPS history.
Backup data is used only to provide the backup, restore and delete functions you request. It is stored in your Google account, is not copied to the developer's Google Drive, is not sold, and is not used for advertising or analytics. Google processes the storage and authorisation under Google's privacy policy.
You can disconnect Google Drive or delete the cloud backup from Kala Time. You can also remove Kala Time's hidden app data through your Google Drive settings. Uninstalling Kala Time removes its local data but does not automatically delete a cloud backup that you chose to create.
Location and maps
Location permission is optional and is requested only for features that need it, including weather, local news, Kala Map, nearby places, route recording, fuel stations and photo location stamps.
When you use an online map or route feature, coordinates, addresses or route points may be sent over HTTPS to OpenStreetMap tile and Nominatim search services, the FOSSGIS Valhalla routing service, and Kala Time's traffic or fuel services. Recorded routes and saved places remain on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
These providers receive the request and normal technical information such as your IP address. See OpenStreetMap attribution and policies.
Weather, news, recipes and shopping
Weather requests send coordinates to Open-Meteo. Local-news lookup may send coordinates or a typed area to postcode and news providers. News, recipe and retailer searches send the words you enter and normal technical request information to the relevant provider.
Opening an original article, recipe or retailer page is an action you choose and is then governed by that provider's privacy practices.
Trial access and Google Play
Kala Time's access service receives a randomly generated installation identifier, trial timing information and, only when entered, a Google Play reviewer access code. It does not receive your alarm, Budget or location records.
Google Play processes purchases and restoration under Google's privacy policy. Kala Time stores the resulting access state locally.
Camera, photos and files
Camera permission is used only when you open the Photo feature. Photos are saved on your device and may include the time or location you chose to stamp onto them. Kala Time accesses attachments, imports and exports only when you select those actions. Files leave the app only when you choose to share or export them.
Warzone and downloads
The optional Warzone campaign and Sleep audio are downloaded only when you request them. The hosting server receives normal request information such as an IP address. Downloaded content remains on your device until app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Android permissions and device functions
Kala Time may request permissions for exact alarms, notifications, location, camera and foreground services. It also uses vibration, wake lock and restart events so alarms, timers, sleep audio and route recording can work as requested. Permissions can be denied or revoked in Android settings, although the related feature may then be limited.
Advertising, analytics and sale of data
Kala Time does not include an advertising SDK or an app analytics SDK. The developer does not sell your personal information.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains until you remove it in Kala Time, clear Kala Time's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app, subject to any Android backup and restore settings you enabled. An optional Google Drive backup remains until you delete it in Kala Time or remove the app's hidden data through Google Drive. Third-party providers retain request data according to their own policies.
Because Kala Time does not use user accounts or store your personal app records in a developer account, there is no separate online account to delete.
Security
Kala Time uses app-private Android storage for local records and HTTPS for its online services. No internet-connected service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when Kala Time's features or data handling change. The latest version will be published at this address with a revised date.
